OUR STORY
Maxwell Ruff Ranch was established in 2017 in Pampa, Tx by Morgan and Natalie Maxwell. Starting with Ellie May, our Goldendoodle, we later transitioned to breeding the AMD (Australian Mountain Doodle) as it more closely fit OUR idea of a perfect companion. This breed was ideal for Maxwell Ruff Ranch due to blending the Australian Shepherd intelligence, the laid back temperament of the Bernese Mountain Dog, and the low-shedding benefits of a Poodle coat. Up until now the business was solely for dog breeding, however the duo is looking to expand in the near future.

MORGAN & NATALIE MAXWELL
The Maxwells both have backgrounds in ranching and raising animals. Morgan was born to a cattle ranching family in the DFW area. Here he would take part in raising and showing Brangus and Angus cattle as well as Border Collies. Raised in East Texas, Natalie’s family had a Draft Horse operation. Her family also bred AKC Labrador Retrievers and Schnauzers. Together they use their past experiences as well as new information to raise healthy and well socialized puppies.

our breeding standards
Here at Maxwell Ruff Ranch, we strive to produce healthy, structurally sound puppies with an engaging disposition. Since starting in 2017, we have expanded and continue to grow in knowledge about dogs, breeding practices, and the pet industry. Although some ideas have changed along the way, the goal we strive to meet has not.
We believe our dogs are family first. Meaning, they will not be rehomed at the end of their breeding life or if found unfit to breed. Our pack of pups will continue to live out their lives with us because we have built a lasting bond with each of them. We expect our puppies to join homes that share similar values. Those values being: training is important for a healthy dog-to-human relationship, care for the dog should be equivalent to that of a family member, and pet ownership is a lifelong commitment.
With our breeding pairings right now, we have achieved what we feel is an ideal quality coat with unique colors and patterns. This hair texture is more wavy as opposed to the standard tight curls, allowing for ease of brushing, cleaning, and less debris trapped within the coat.
